Plan
Recruiting Goliath on Cai's route requires support level 3 with him, 7 Renown, and 3x Giant's Meat in hand.
Part I, chapter 1
Give Goliath one liked gift or share one support-raising activity (meal, arena training, temple service, feast, theatre or thermae) with him every in-game week until you reach support level 3.† unverified
Part I, chapter 1
Prioritise quests from the start of the route, above all Cai's specialised Kindness Quests, plus divine audiences, skirmishes and paralogues, to bank Renown continuously.† unverified
Part I, chapter 1
Collect 3x Giant's Meat by taking the guaranteed one at Sand-Shadow Fort and farming skirmishes marked with a Giant icon, where giants spawn south of Breston and west of Credna's Temple.† unverified
Research notes
- Give Goliath one liked gift or share one support-raising activity (meal, arena training, temple service, feast, theatre or thermae) with him every in-game week until you reach support level 3. Why: Satisfies the 3S support component of Goliath's gate; support is his own level with the player, raised by gifts/activities aimed at him.
- Prioritise quests from the start of the route, above all Cai's specialised Kindness Quests, plus divine audiences, skirmishes and paralogues, to bank Renown continuously. Why: Satisfies the 7R Renown component of Goliath's gate on Cai's route. Quests are the largest single Renown source; Cai's route-specific type is Kindness Quests (planning-inputs.md, Renown section)
- Collect 3x Giant's Meat by taking the guaranteed one at Sand-Shadow Fort and farming skirmishes marked with a Giant icon, where giants spawn south of Breston and west of Credna's Temple. Why: Satisfies the 3x Giant's Meat component of Goliath's gate on Cai's route. Field/skirmish drop, not shop-sold — one always available at Sand-Shadow Fort on the world map, further copies from Giant-icon skirmishes (planning-inputs.md, Items table)
Missing plan details
- no chapter/renown-level correspondence found for Cai's route, so no chapter can be named at which 7R is reached
- no chapter, date, price or stock recorded for Giant's Meat beyond the fixed Sand-Shadow Fort pickup and Giant-icon skirmish drops

Guide rating 2 out of 5 stars◇ our recommendation: this guide's own judgement, not a sourced fact Bld+5 is nice, but the permanent cavalry/flying lockout is a real cost. Rate it yourself

Story and profile
Who they are
Goliath is an arena fighter called the Butcher, and he stands 250 cm tall. For all his skill he is not popular, and arena crowds tend to cast him as the villain. He likes rampaging, food, animals and smoking meat, and he lives for training and competing. He is part of Bertrand's Army and joins in Part 1.
Goliath is an armoured bruiser ranked B. Strength growth is 60%, HP 55% and Defence 50%, which is the shape of a unit that takes hits and returns them. Speed growth is 15%, so he rarely doubles. Magic is 5% and Resistance 20%, which makes mages his main danger. Heavyweight Class gives Bld+5 but bars cavalry and flying classes. Axe and Heavy are his preferred skills, and the path runs Gladiator, Armored Knight, Dreadnought, Battlemaster. White Magic, Flier and Black Magic are bane skills.
